SECURITY COVERAGE FOR THE POLITICAL PARTY PRIMARIES

We wish to inform that the National Police Service is providing security coverage to the ongoing political party primaries, based on the timelines provided by the IEBC, and as requested by the respective political parties. All County, Unit and Formation Commanders have drawn up their Operational Orders to cover the nominations in their respective Counties.

EASTER HOLIDAY PRESS RELEASE

The Easter Holidays are with us and are usually marked with religious festivities and lots of merry making that involves a lot of movement and travel, as families join their loved ones in different parts of the country.

POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE

As the Country approaches the general elections scheduled for 8th August 2017, various candidates aspiring for different political seats have made applications for Police Clearance Certificate. Therefore, the National Police Service wishes to inform aspirants and the members of the public that all applicants are issued with the document irrespective of whether they were convicted, acquitted, dismissed, discharged or have cases pending in court.

REVISED BADGES OF RANK AND INSIGNIA FOR THE NATIONAL POLICE SERVICE

The National Police Joint Service Board has approved revised badges of rank and insignia for all ranks in the Service. In the Joint Service Board held on 29th March 2017, the Board approved the change of the badges of rank for the Inspector General, Deputy Inspectors General, Senior Assistant Inspector General, Assistant Inspector General, Commissioner of Police and Senior Sergeant.

STATE OF GENERAL ELECTIONS SECURITY PREPAREDNESS

The National Police Service is required by the Constitution and other relevant laws to ensure a safe and secure environment for the Kenya People to execute their democratic rights.  As a Service, we are committed towards providing a conducive environment for both voters and aspirants to exercise their democratic rights before, during and after the General Elections, scheduled for 8th August, 2017.
