POLICE REFORMS ON UPWARD TRAJECTORY (2019-04-01).
Outgoing Inspector General Mr. Joseph Boinnet has expressed satisfaction over the on going Police reforms saying the progress realized was encouraging.
Mr. Boinnet said that the Reform agenda is  now being felt at the field level after the reorganization and restructuring of the   service with a view  to make it more  efficient, effective and responsive to the members of the public.
Speaking to the Regional and Formation Police Commanders at the Kenya School of Government (KSG) over the weekend, the outgoing Inspector General said, the police reforms were on the upward trajectory.
Regional commanders who presented  reports from the eight regions, confirmed that the police reforms had been received well by officers on the ground and that implementation was at an advanced stage to align functions and roles as provided for in the reorganization and restructuring of the police reform program.
 
Mr, Boinnet who hailed all officers for supporting the reform program gave special tribute to police constables at the grass root level who diligently serve wananchi in all parts of the country braving hash climatic conditions and tough terrain to deliver people centred policing service.
The outgoing IG further hailed United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), The United States of America, China, India, South Africa, Rwanda and Ethiopia among other development partners for helping the police implement the reforms.
He hailed other security agencies for the collaboration that ensured the safety and security of the country.
Mr Boinnet expressed hope that the next phase of the reform will enable the police perform even better in the provision of quality service to the members of the public and wished the incoming IG well in the Policing sector.
