Police Hot Lines


Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i today jointly launched two strategic plans for both the National Police Service and the National Police Service Commission to take the two institutions to the next phase of reform in the security sector.

Dr. Matiang’i who was today speaking during the launch at the Kenya School of Government, underscored the importance of the strategic planning to enable the two
institutions to remain focussed on the reform agenda for efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.

  While hailing the police service for taking the reform to the next phase, Dr. Matiang’i said police modernization will be implemented across the country where every police station will computerize its policing activities in service delivery.

He asked the Police to adhere to the rule of law and respect for human rights while discharging their duties adding that those who break the law will not be spared irrespective of
their status in society. The Cabinet Secretary hailed the non-state actors and the civil society for working together with the security sector to ensure the safety and security of our country. Members of the public, he said, play a crucial role in assisting the police to promptly and effectively tackle security issues through information sharing.

Dr. Matiang’i appreciated the synergy currently being experienced between the security sector and civil society together with other non-state actors, members of the public and
development partners. This he said will go a long way in making the country safe and secure. The Inspector General Mr. Hilary Mutyambai and the Chairman of the Commission Mr. Eliud Kinuthia expressed their commitment to implement their respective strategic plans for effectiveness and efficiency in service delivery.
