DIG KPS MAKES IMPROMPTU VISIT TO KAJIADO COUNTY

The Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service (DIG–KPS), Mr.Eliud Lagat, yesterday 6th October, 2025 made an impromptu visit to Rongai Police Station and Kibiko Police Post in Kajiado County. The visit was part of an ongoing initiative to assess police welfare and evaluate the region's operational readiness. The objective was to engage directly with officers, understand their challenges, and inspect the state of infrastructure and resources at the respective stations. Upon arrival, Mr.Lagat was received by Kajiado County Police Commander Mr.Alex Shikondi, CP; County Administration Police Commander Ms.Hadija Sharif, SSP; and County Criminal Investigations Officer Ms.Margaret Abae, SSP. The Officer Commanding Station (OCS) for Rongai Police Station, CI Dan Mwangi, was also present, alongside other senior officers. 

The DIG toured the station, inspecting key sections including the Report Office, Gender and Children’s Office, cells, the Anti-Crime Unit, DCI Offices, Traffic Office, and Police Lines. During his engagement with officers on duty, Mr.Lagat listened to their feedback on welfare and operational matters. He commended them for their high morale, professionalism, and for maintaining the offices and residential areas to a high standard. He assured them that their concerns would be addressed. Mr.Lagat also reiterated the Inspector General’s commitment to improving officers’ welfare and transforming police stations into centres of excellence for public service delivery. 

He further noted that plans are underway to gazette additional police stations to enhance the efficiency of service provision. Additionally, the DIG called for urgent attention to security concerns within the Bangladesh area of Rongai, highlighting the need for enhanced surveillance and coordination. He also urged officers to uphold integrity and work towards restoring public trust, particularly within the Traffic Department, by ensuring traffic management systems operate effectively and transparently. Accompanying the DIG were the Director of Logistics, Mr.Peter Ndung’u, SAIG; the Director of Operations, Mr.Adamson Bungei, SAIG; the Director of Gender and Child Protection, Ms.Dolly Badia, AIG; and Mr.Silas Andiema, CP, from the Directorate of Personnel, among other senior officers.
