FARE THEE WELL, MR.PHILIP KIPCHIRCHIR TUIMUR – AIG

The National Police Service (NPS) today, Saturday, 13 December 2025, joined a multitude of mourners to honour and lay to rest the late Mr.Philip Kipchirchir Tuimur, AIG, at his home in Kabutie Village, Chesumei Sub-County, Nandi County. Mr.Tuimur passed away on Saturday, 6 December 2025, after a short illness.

The Inspector General of Police, Mr.Douglas Kanja, was represented at the burial ceremony by the Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service, Mr.Eliud Lagat. DIG Lagat conveyed condolence messages from the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Interior and National Administration, Hon.Kipchumba Murkomen; the IG, Mr.Douglas Kanja; the DIG-APS, Mr.Gilbert Masengeli; and the Director of Criminal Investigations, Mr.Mohamed Amin.

Eulogised as a devoted family man, police officer, and servant of the people, Mr.Tuimur was remembered for his decades of service marked by discipline, courage, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to public safety and security. He was noted for his steady judgement, mentorship of young officers, and insistence on honour and accountability in all actions.

The DIG-KPS was accompanied by the Director of Training and Research (KPS), Mr.David Birech, SAIG; the Director of Community Policing (KPS), Ms.Judy Lamet, SAIG; Rift Valley Regional Police Commander, Mr.Samuel Ndanyi, AIG; Nandi County Police Commander, Mr.Samwel Mukuusi, CP; and Chesumei Sub-County Police Commander, Mr.Silas Kiogora, SSP, among other senior officers.

The burial ceremony was also graced by the Nandi County Governor, H.E. Stephen Sang; the Deputy Governor, Dr.Yulita Cheruiyot; Nandi County Commissioner, Mr.Wilberforce Kilonzo; IPOA Commissioner, Dr.Micah Onyiengo; and other mourners.
The National Police Service extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and fellow officers. May his soul rest in peace.
