H.E. PRESIDENT RUTO VISITS NPS EXHIBITION STAND AT MOMBASA INTERNATIONAL SHOW 2025
His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, today graced the National Police Service exhibition stand at the ongoing Mombasa International Show. The President was warmly received by the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja, alongside the Director of Criminal Investigations, Mr. Mohamed Amin. During his tour, the President interacted with NPS experts from various specialized units. These included the Integrated Command and Control Centre (IC3), the Police Air Wing, National Police Training Institutions, the Chaplaincy, Medical Services, the Bomb Disposal Unit, and the Fichua kwa DCI platform, among others. His visit was accompanied by live jazz entertainment from the APS Jazz Band.
In recognition of excellence, President Ruto lauded the NPS for being adjudged Best Stand in Display and Presentation of Security Services (Government Organization). He personally presented the trophy to the Inspector General of Police. This award affirms the NPS’s steady progress in the digitization and modernization of policing services.
The Head of State was accompanied by the Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Hon. Salim Mvurya; the Principal Secretary for the State Department of Transport, Hon. Mohammed Daghar; the Mombasa Governor, H.E. Abdulswamad Nassir; and other senior government officials. While the Inspector General was flanked by senior NPS leadership, including the Director of the Internal Affairs Unit, Mr. Boniface Maingi, SAIG; the NPS Spokesperson, Mr. Muchiri Nyaga, AIG; the Director of Planning and External Linkages APS, Mr. Lawrence Owino, AIG; the Coast Regional Police Commander, Mr. Ali Nuno, AIG; the Director of Planning NPS, Mr. Richard Lesasuiyan, AIG; the Regional Administration Police Commander, Mr. John Macharia, CP; and the Deputy Director of Reforms DCI Ms.Betty Chepngeno, CP; among other senior officers.
