IG KANJA HOSTS MEMBERS OF THE LAW SOCIETY OF KENYA
The Inspector-General of the National Police Service, Mr. Douglas Kanja, today, 4 June 2025, hosted members of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) at the National Police Service Headquarters, Jogoo House. The LSK delegation was led by its President, Ms. Faith Odhiambo, who presented a memorandum to the Inspector-General. The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) is Kenya’s premier bar association, mandated to advise and assist members of the legal profession, the government, and the public on matters relating to the administration of justice in Kenya. Given the vital roles played by both the National Police Service (NPS) and the LSK in the administration of justice, the Society sought constructive engagement with the Office of the Inspector-General to promote mutual accountability, professional respect, and effective collaboration.
In response to the issues raised by the LSK, the Inspector-General acknowledged their importance and emphasized that many could be addressed through closer cooperation between the two institutions. He invited the LSK to deliver lectures at the National Police Leadership Academy (NPLA) in Ngong, aiming to foster greater awareness and mutual understanding. The Inspector-General further assured the Society of the NPS’s readiness to collaborate in efforts to enhance national security and justice. He encouraged LSK members to raise concerns freely and engage constructively with the Service. The LSK delegation included Vice-President Mr. Mwaura Kabata, CEO Ms. Florence W. Muturi, and Council Members Ms. Irene Otto, Ms. Gloria Kimani, Mr. Hosea Manwa, Mr. Vincent Githaiga, and Mr. Stephen Mbugua.
