IG KANJA JOINS CS MURKOMEN FOR THE 23RD JUKWAA LA USALAMA IN LAIKIPIA COUNTY
The Inspector General of the National Police Service (IG-NPS), Mr. Douglas Kanja, joined the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, Hon. Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen, alongside residents, local leaders, NPS officers, and National Government Administration Officials (NGAO) for a day-long security appraisal and engagement held today 31st July 2025 at the NG-CDF Social Hall in Nanyuki Township, Laikipia County. The meeting advanced the shared mission of the CS Interior and IG-NPS to visit all counties across the Republic, gaining first-hand insight into challenges faced by the public—particularly regarding safety and security. The IG thanked security officers serving in the county and emphasised their duty to deliver robust community policing efforts. He expressed confidence that the government’s transformative initiatives were yielding progress, as evidenced by Operation Maliza Uhalifu.
Earlier, the CS and IG-NPS paid a courtesy call to Laikipia Governor H.E.Joshua Irungu. Also in attendance were local MPs and County Assembly members, led by Hon. Mwangi Kiunjuri (Laikipia East), Hon. Sarah Korere (Laikipia North), and Hon. Jane W. Kagiri (Laikipia Woman Rep); Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police Service (DIG-APS), Mr. Gilbert Masengeli; Commandant of the General Service Unit (GSU), Mr. Ranson Lolmodooni, SAIG; Rift Valley Regional Police Commander, Mr. Jasper Ombati, AIG; NPS Spokesperson, Mr. Muchiri Nyaga, AIG; Laikipia County Commissioner, Mr. Onesmus Kyatha;among others.
