KERIO VALLEY CHOOSES PEACE: 27 ILLEGAL GUNS SURRENDERED

Police in Tot, Elgeyo Marakwet County, yesterday received twenty-seven illegal firearms, including AK-47 and G3 rifles, as part of an ongoing voluntary disarmament exercise. The firearms were surrendered through the cooperation of community members and Peace Committees in the areas of Ketut, Chemwonyo, Kibaimwa, Mon, Chesuman, Kaben, and Endo. The weapons have been taken into safe custody. This latest surrender brings the total number of firearms recovered under 'Operation Rudisha Bunduki' to 232, along with 1,595 rounds of ammunition.
National Police Service commends local leaders, elders, and residents for their goodwill and cooperation in fostering peace and security in the Kerio Valley.
