MAJOR DRUG BUST IN NYAMIRA AS POLICE RECOVER 260KG OF SUSPECTED CANNABIS

A targeted operation by officers from the Keroka Police Station in Nyamira County, led by Sub-County Police Commander (SCPC) Mr. Tobias Ombima (SSP), resulted in the seizure of ten sacks containing approximately 260kg of a substance suspected to be cannabis sativa. The recovery was made yesterday when officers intercepted a suspicious vehicle travelling from Kisii towards Sotik. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle was fitted with a fake number plate in an attempt to evade detection. Two occupants of the vehicle were arrested and are currently in police custody, pending arraignment. The vehicle has also been impounded as investigations continue.
