NPS HOSTS PARTNERS AHEAD OF ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIP

Sports remain an integral part of the National Police Service (NPS), serving not only as a unifying force but also as a platform for promoting physical and mental well-being, fostering teamwork and discipline among officers, and enhancing overall morale and cohesion. Over the years, the NPS has established itself as a sports powerhouse, an achievement made possible by the steadfast support of our valued partners. Their commitment, demonstrated through resource provision and collaboration on various initiatives, has significantly strengthened the Service’s capacity. In recognition of this unwavering support, the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja, this afternoon hosted representatives from organisations including Safaricom PLC,  Co-op Bank Kenya, Kenya National Police DT SACCO, Harambee Sacco, and Nairobi Sports House.

As the Service prepares for the upcoming NPS Athletics Championship, scheduled for 3rd and 4th June at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, this support will play a pivotal role in ensuring the event’s success, as well as that of future initiatives. Speaking on behalf of the National Police Service, IG Kanja expressed gratitude to all partners, not only for their support in sports but also in other endeavors. He added that these partnerships  have enabled the Service to make consistent progress and deliver impactful results. The Inspector General also commended NPS’s sportsmen and sportswomen, who uphold the Service’s values while representing Kenya on international platforms. He noted that their outstanding achievements bring honor to both the Service and the nation.
Additionally, IG Kanja acknowledged the Local Organizing Committee, chaired by NPS Athletics Chairperson Mr. Stephen Etyang, AIG, for their instrumental role in coordinating preparations and ensuring NPS athletes are well-positioned to excel as part of the national team.

Present during the event were the Principal Assistant to the IG, Mr. Mathew Kutoh, SAIG, Director of Corporate Communication/ NPS Spokesperson Mr. Muchiri Nyaga, AIG, and the Personal Assistant to the IG, Mr. James Murithi, SSP.
