POLICE SUSTAIN WAR ON SECOND-GENERATION ALCOHOL IN ONGOING OPERATIONS
Yesterday, 31 May 2025, following a report of a speeding vehicle that hit other motorists along the Migori-Kisii Highway near Suneka Town in Kisii County and fled the scene, officers from the Gesonso Police Station responded swiftly and successfully intercepted a white Toyota Probox, registration number KDH 998F, along the highway. Upon inspection, the vehicle was found to be transporting 58 cartons of "Best" and 40 cartons of "Smart" alcoholic drinks, each carton containing 20 bottles of 250 ml—products classified as second-generation alcohol. The suspect (the driver) was taken into custody and is awaiting arraignment. The seized alcoholic products have been secured while investigations continue. The National Police Service urges the public to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and cooperate fully with law enforcement officers in the ongoing fight against the distribution and consumption of harmful alcoholic substances.
