ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE IN EMBAKASI: POLICE RESCUE SUSPECTS FROM MOB INJUSTICE

Today, 5 June 2025, members of the public reported that a group of approximately nine men were stealing batteries from lorries parked behind City Cabanas, near Ramtons in Embakasi, Nairobi. Police officers on patrol responded swiftly and managed to rescue two male suspects from mob injustice by a group of boda boda riders. Preliminary investigations reveal that the two suspects, along with accomplices who fled the scene while armed with crude weapons, had threatened a lorry driver and stolen a battery from his vehicle. During the operation, police recovered an assortment of crude weapons, one Chloride Exide vehicle battery, and two motorcycles believed to have been used by the suspects. The rescued individuals were taken to hospital for treatment, pending further interrogation. National Police Service strongly advises the public against taking the law into their own hands. Instead, they are encouraged to use official channels by reporting crimes and handing suspects over to the nearest police station.
