DIG ELIUD LAGAT MAKES SURPRISE VISITS TO MWINGI AND MATUU POLICE STATIONS

Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service (DIG-KPS), Mr. Eliud Lagat, yesterday (14th August 2025), made impromptu visits to Mwingi and Matuu Police Stations in Kitui and Machakos Counties, respectively. The DIG toured key sections of the stations, including the Report Office, Children and Gender Office, Cells, Anti-Crime Unit, DCI Offices, Traffic Office, and Police Lines, engaging directly with officers on duty. While addressing officers at both stations, Mr. Lagat praised them for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to public service. He also emphasised the importance of mental health awareness, improving officers’ welfare, and upholding integrity. 

Additionally, the DIG urged officers to maintain high standards of discipline, teamwork, and professionalism while demonstrating humanity in their duties. He encouraged them to serve as role models and inspire both their colleagues and the community. Senior police officers from Kitui and Machakos Counties and the Personal Assistant to the DIG- KPS, Mr.Patrick Kithure, ASP were present during the visit.
