SWIFT POLICE OPERATION RECOVERS STOLEN FIREARM AND OTHER ITEMS IN MADOGO, TANA RIVER
Today, 13th August 2025, Police officers from Garissa County, led by the Deputy RCIO of the North Eastern Region, conducted an operation in Madogo to recover a firearm stolen during a violent robbery reported at Garissa Police Station on 5th August 2025. Acting on intelligence, the team in collaboration with officers from Madogo Police Station escorted a female suspect to her residence in Bula Kartasi Estate, Madogo. A thorough search of the premises led to the recovery of a Glock pistol with a magazine containing 17 rounds of ammunition.
Also recovered were the complainant’s wallet, holding his national identity card and his wife’s ID card, a Kenya Police Service Certificate of Appointment, military identification card, smock jacket, police belt, and several swords among other items. The suspect remains in police custody pending processing and arraignment in court. The National Police Service applauds the swift coordination among the officers involved and reaffirms its commitment to ensuring public safety.
